Jack Pineda Dale
Legal Director, MCE, Central and Eastern Europe | Microsoft
Jack will speak about “Digital Transformation of Microsoft’s Legal Department” together with Mathias Strand.
Jack is a legal professional with a focus on IT law. He works as a legal director at Microsoft for all commercial matters in Central and Eastern Europe, and he is based in Helsinki. His special focus is artificial intelligence and new technologies. Through his previous position as an attorney lead in Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit, he has gained experience in cybersecurity as well. During his nine years at Microsoft, Jack has been based in El Salvador, Colombia, and Finland. He regularly speaks at conferences, and he has also been a guest lecturer at several different universities in different countries. He is currently the global project leader in a project relating to a revolutionary legal bot in Microsoft’s legal department.

Mathias will speak about “Digital Transformation of Microsoft’s Legal Department” together with Jack Pineda Dale.
Mathias heads the legal team for the Microsoft subsidiaries in Western Europe. He frequently speaks about privacy- and cloud-related topics in Europe, and he is a guest lecturer at the law schools at the University of Stockholm and Umeå University.
Mathias holds a Master of Laws from the Faculty of Law at Uppsala University and an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mathias worked at law firms in Stockholm, New York, and Washington DC.

Franz will speak about “Bringing Big Bias to Big Decisions – A Look at Big Data and Algorithmic Illusions”.
Franz is a digital business strategist at OP Financial Group, with a focus on open banking, the platform economy and cross-industry digital business models. He also acts as the Steering Group Chairman of a global reverse-mentoring community called Millennial Board. He has talked about the future of work and transformational growth with the executive teams of e.g. Arla, Elisa and If.
Franz is endlessly curious and always eager to meet new people. He has lectured all around the Nordics to big corporations and students alike. His background is in law and he kickstarted his career in Hannes Snellman’s M&A -team.

David will speak about “Agile Agreements vs. Traditional Contracts” together with Outi Jousi.
David’s field of expertise includes international arbitration as well as domestic arbitration and litigation. He has acted as counsel for Swedish and foreign clients in complex arbitrations under various rules, such as ICC, AAA/ICDR, SCC, LCIA, SIAC, as well as in ad-hoc administrated arbitrations. David has also advised clients and acted as counsel in several high-value disputes before state courts. David’s broad dispute resolution experience includes, amongst other things, IT, telecom, construction, M&A, and real estate related disputes. In addition to his arbitration and litigation work, David has been engaged in various CSR, sustainability and anti-corruption matters, including several high-profile corruption investigations.

Outi will speak about “Agile Agreements vs. Traditional Contracts” together with David Ackebo.
Outi works as a counsel in Hannes Snellman’s IP & Technology practice, and she assists clients in matters relating to public procurement and technology. She offers strategic advice and assists clients – both contracting authorities and companies – in negotiations, market surveys, tendering competitions, Market Court proceedings, compliance analysis, and contractual disputes.
Prior to joining Hannes Snellman, Outi established the Finnish IT public procurement practice in a global law firm. She also has a software developer background in addition to her legal degree. Furthermore, she brought agile contracting to the Finnish public sector while working at the state central procurement body Hansel and was certified as a Scrum Master. Outi regularly arranges seminars and writes articles on public procurement, agile contracting, software development methodologies as well as data security and privacy.
Senior Associate | Hannes Snellman
Klara will speak about “Revolutionary Blockchain Technology – Transformation of Business and the Legal Landscape?” together with Marcus Lehtinen.
Klara specialises in private equity and M&A transactions, including general corporate and commercial law. In addition, Klara has extensive experience in financing transactions, such as acquisition financing, bonds, corporate lending and real estate financings.
Thesis Trainee | Hannes Snellman
Marcus will speak about “Revolutionary Blockchain Technology – Transformation of Business and the Legal Landscape?” together with Klara Kjellberg.
Marcus is a law student at the University of Stockholm with a profound interest in blockchain technology and other related technologies, such as smart contracts. He has written a research essay on the legality of smart contracts during his studies at the University of Auckland.
Marcus has worked at Hannes Snellman’s Stockholm office as a Law Student Trainee in the Competition & Procurement team, and he will return to Hannes Snellman this autumn as a Thesis Trainee in the Private M&A team.

Jesper will speak about “How Will Tech Affect Practising Law?” together with Elisabeth Vestin.
Jesper is the co-head of Hannes Snellman’s IP & Technology practice in Helsinki, and his practice focuses on commercial, technology, and data protection law and he has particular expertise in open source licensing issues. He advises both buyers and suppliers of information technology on a wide range of business-critical matters ranging from strategic advice, project management, contract drafting, negotiations, and disputes to the re-engineering of distressed projects. His expertise covers outsourcing and digital transformation projects, complex technology transactions, data protection and privacy as well as non-contentious IP, software licensing, and compliance matters.

Anna-Maria will speak about “Tech in Litigation and Tech Litigation – What Does the Future Hold?“ together with Christopher Tehrani.
Anna-Maria works as a partner at Hannes Snellman in both the Helsinki and Stockholm offices. She specialises in commercial arbitration and litigation. Anna-Maria has experience in mediating, arbitrating and litigating high-stakes commercial disputes often consisting of multijurisdictional and parallel proceedings in the fields of general commercial law, international sales, post M&A, international investment law, competition law, telecoms and energy. Anna-Maria has additionally advised clients with regard to potential commercial and investment disputes and on the recognition, enforcement and setting aside of arbitral awards in a variety of jurisdictions. Thanks to her training and work experience in Finland, Austria, United Kingdom, United States, and Sweden, Anna-Maria has an in-depth understanding of both common and civil law legal systems. In addition to her work as counsel, Anna-Maria sits as an arbitrator, speaks regularly at dispute resolution conferences, and teaches at law schools in Helsinki, Stockholm, and Vienna.

Christopher will speak about “Tech in Litigation and Tech Litigation – What Does the Future Hold?“ together with Anna-Maria Tamminen.
Christopher works as a managing associate in Hannes Snellman’s IP & Technology practice in Stockholm. He has vast experience of IPR litigation, in particular regarding patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. He often advises transnational clients from a wide range of industries, and his experience includes extensive work with numerous high-value, cross-border litigations relating to pharmaceuticals, telecom, and medical devices.
Christopher is also experienced in advising life science clients on regulatory issues. Furthermore, he regularly advises clients on issues relating to market law, drafting and negotiating various licence agreements as well as on general strategies for the commercialisation of IP.

Elisabeth will speak about “How Will Tech Affect Practising Law?” together with Jesper Nevalainen.
Elisabeth heads Hannes Snellman’s IP & Technology practice in Stockholm. Her fields of expertise include IT, outsourcing, telecom, data protection, IP, marketing, consumer protection, e-commerce and distribution, sports, media, music and entertainment law as well as general commercial law. Innovation, technology, know-how, data, e-commerce, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights are often central to the businesses Elisabeth advises.
Her practice includes drafting, interpreting, negotiating, and disputing commercial agreements. She also advises clients on M&A in the field of IP & TMT.
Furthermore, Elisabeth has worked with corporate sustainability, bribery, anti-corruption, and compliance matters for over a decade. She regularly conducts presentations and training in these areas.
